Thunderkat's Journey with Self-ligating Ceramics/Metal

My teeth have made some progress and I wanted to share my excitement with people that actually care!! I have been wearing braces for 3 weeks (ceramics on uppers, lowers are metal). Honestly, my teeth weren't that bad to begin with. The main reason I got them was because my one upper right lateral was crooked, and guess what...it's moved so much, it's almost straight! This tooth has been the bane of my existance since I was a kid (I am 28 now), and it's already almost straight! It's a little weird, I felt it became a part of me, b/c I was constantly aware of it when I smiled, and now it's almost gone. I dunno how to explain it but it's just a strange thing for me...
It's amazing how quickly we are able to adapt to things. The first 4-5 days of wearing the braces, I wanted them off, and I felt like a made the wrong decision b/c they were just so awkward (especially with the cement build-ups). They were affecting my eating, speaking and general daily interactions with others. After three weeks, I sometimes forget that I'm even wearing them. Although I am not able to actually bite into food (like biting into an apple), I can chew fairly normally with my molars.
I'll post some pics of my progress so far sometime soon.
