hello...from a newly braced face

#1 Post by 636chick »

I finally made the jump...I have been lurking on this forum since I decided I was thinking about finally doing it. I really like the support and knowledgeable people on here. I never talk on forums but I feel I may need to on this journey.
So here is a little about me and my decision to get braces. I am a 32 year old female, I have always adored great smiles. Being a childhood thumbsucker played a part in my teeth. My son was just braced a few weeks ago and since I was evaluated 4 years ago and I am still thinking about it I figured it was not going to go away. So I had spacers for the past week (4 on the top 4 on the bottom) which hit a high point of annoyance around day 3 and after that it was not too bad.
So today is my BDAY, so far not so bad but it is still early. I am still trying to get used to the feeling. I am using 3M Unitek clarity on top and metal on the bottom.
Please excuse the bad photography.

Good morning 636chick. Happy belated birthday and I'm glad to see that I am not alone on this journey in Braceland. Looking forward to hearing how you are progressing.

2 weeks in

I actually can see a change, so far I have not had any issues and think I have finally embraced my braces. I go in for my first adjustment in less than 2 weeks. I think I may try for some color on my bottom brackets.
