hey everyone! i posted a while ago but could not edit my post to include the updates!

just to recap, i had 4 extractions to treat my cross bite and to fix my canine that erupted in my palate.

i have some concerns and am kind of upset about how my teeth look 1 year in. my smile is "slanted" which wasn't like that before.

can anyone tell me what's going on? is this normal?

i'm happy that my canine is finally coming in though!

before during and currently pics:

this was before anything was done to my mouth:

and right after getting braced!

The canine in the back... this was sometime in October.

i am sad to say that i feel like braces have made things worse for me
but i also understand that things were supposed to get worse before they
got better. i have an open bite now that i didn't have before and gaps everywhere! ahh!

thanks for looking! please share your opinions, words of encouragement, or to curse at my orthodontist =\

I won't curse at your orthodontist, as I've done enough cursing about mine.

I think your teeth look WAY better than they did before you started. Hate to say it, but the "worse before it gets better" thing is true. I never thought anything was wrong with my lower teeth at all before I started. Now, just 3 months later, I look at them and think "WTF?! I'm more ashamed of those than I of my overjet, overbite AND extraction gap combined."

Hang in there - there really HAS been a lot of improvement, and it can only get better.

They really are looking better! Hang in there. Eventually you will become bored with the progress of your teeth!

I think they're looking better! I'd trust your ortho, i believe that they all know what they're doing and if you're unsure ask them to explain what they're trying to achieve and how it will happen.

My ortho tells me everything because i asked to be told, even from the smallest things he explains them in detail. Mostly to calm my nerves but i enjoy it cos of my curiosity ;)

Catgyrl's right. We've all been to gapville and back. It looks as though your smile is coming together exactly as it should. Congrats! I bet you'll be very close to done this time next year.
