Hi all -- I had my first adjustment this week and wrote about it on my blog. See http://chicletmouth.blogspot.com/.

Thanks, Followers! It's nice to know you're there! :-)

Braces at 57....

#2 Post by armadillo »

Hi, revontuli, so good to hear there's someone close to my age going through the same thing as me....I'm new to this forum (as of today), 57, and got my braces in August. It's been an uncomfortable and sometimes painful couple of months, but I figure the 18 months will pass with or without braces, so I went for it. I haven't seen any progress yet, and was told not to be too anxious. Sounds like you are adjusting well! Good luck!

Thanks for writing, Armadillo! It's so good to know there are others out there going through this at about the same time. Last night I saw a friend of mine and she said, "Why did you get braces at your age?" :-/ My reasoning was the same as yours: the time will pass anyway, why not have nice teeth at the end of it?

Thanks for thinking I'm adapting well! When I read my blog entries thus far, I sound kind of whiny. :-) (and I guess I kind of am).

Given that I've seen NO movement, 9 weeks in, it sounds like you're doing great!
