Impacted Canine

For close to two years I have been wearing braces (lingual top and clear on the bottom) to bring down an impacted canine. The canine is finally down and ready to be pulled into place. I took a few photos to show my progress. The tooth on the left is a pontic (fake tooth) that is directly in front of the canine that was brought down. Not sure why the enormous gap is necessary, or the overbite, when the canine is the same size as the pontic. I'm struggling right now as I've been dealing with this for such a long time and my teeth were pretty prior to braces (except for the impacted canine) and now they look terrible.
