My Damon Braces Story with pictures

I had my braces put on Jan 31, 2012 and I'm 28 years old. I had the bottom & top put on the same day. I have Damon clear brackets on the top front 10 teeth, the back 2 molars on the top and all of the bottom brackets are Damon metal brackets. I had 2 bite turbos placed right behind my top 2 front teeth to prevent my top teeth from touching my bottom brackets. The ortho says this helps the teeth to move faster because the bite is open & prevents brackets from being bitten off. It is a HUGE pain in the ass. It feels like there is a sharp plastic fork sticking down from the roof of my mouth. Since those are there, I can't place my tongue flat against the roof of my mouth so I have a pretty bad lisp. I'm really hoping the lisp gets better because it's making me not want to talk to anyone. I have to really think about how to move my tongue & mouth in order to speak. I'm hoping things move fast so I can get those things popped out of there. If it weren't for the bite turbos, I would honestly have no complaints. The brackets look great to me. I've taken 800mg Ibuprofen twice a day right now and that really helps with any soreness. I haven't had any problems with sores in my cheeks or lips from rubbing against the brackets. I put wax on my top canine brackets because those are the ones that poke out the most but they haven't even been irritating me but I thought I'd use the wax as a preventative I guess.
Yesterday, I ate a milkshake, a slice of cheesecake, and a bowl of ramen noodles. LOL Today I had some pizza rolls and it took me about 45 minutes to eat 7 of them. I had to cut them up in tiny pieces & chew really slow. I'm going grocery shopping tonight so I can get some type of nutritious food that I can eat. I have a feeling I will be eating lots of scrambled eggs and smoothies. I tried eating a Ritz cracker and that wasn't happening. If I don't end up eating ice cream all day, I think these braces might be the best diet plan I've ever attempted! Definitely puts a stop to the snacking.
I have my 1st adjustment in 6 weeks. I'm going to try to take pictures every 2-3 weeks to see the progress. Below are my pre-braces teeth and day 1 teeth.
