Deep bite correction, from Italy

#1 Post by concorde »

Hi everybody, I'm 38 years old from Italy. I have a deep bite and some teeth are not aligned.
On September 17 I started my treatment with clear braces on maxillary teeth.
After one month I've got clear brace also on the mandibular teeth and also two guides behind my 2 superior incisors. These are to correct the deep bite. Now I can't post pictures (due to forum rules), but I hope you let me able to post soon some pictures because I'd like to know your opinions.
Ciao everybody!

It's hard with the mouth full of brackets, but the worst are these things behind the incisors. What's the name in english?

Hi Concorde  Welcome to the board! Not sure what the things behind incisors are called. I have stock standard brackets just to move teeth. I'm sure someone else here would know though.

Thanks for your welcome!
Maybe these things could be called "build ups"?

If they're like a hard putty that they've put on your molars yes. My daughter has blue one's to stop her biting down as I said in my thread :) (Sorry I can't really see them in the photo).

They are called bite turbos. I had them for about 6 months. They suck but you will get used to them :)

Hi Elisabeth! Thank you very much! Now I know the name of my horrible things behind the incisors: bite turbos.
Now, after almost 2 months with them I'm still not able to chew and to speak normally!
I dont know how long I will need them. I hope no more then 6 months, like you. I saw yours treatment pictures: a lor of progress!

Welcome!
Have a deep bite myself and was supposed to get those bite turbos but I wanted to wait a little extra before putting on my lower. Because of this I did not need any molar buildups or bite turbos but they say that you will get used to them

Ciao!

p.s I worked as an Au Pair in Italy about 3 years ago, a small city outside of Milano :D

Hi, thanks for your answer! Maybe it was better for me to wait more before putting the lowers in order to don't be obbliged to use bite turbos, but now I can't do nothing else... I must hope that they will be removed soon. Braces are not so bad, but turbos are awful!
I saw your story and you made a lot of progress also without them!
Ciao!

It will get easier I promise. I was definitely ready to have them gone when it came to it, though. :)

I read a lot of stories and I saw a lot of pics on this forum and now I don't understand why I'm the only one to have metal ligatures with clear braces! :((

Probably because you're early in the treatment. In time when forces weaken your orthodontist will use clear ligs for sure.
