Problem with my teeth started when I was 8 years old when I ran out to catch a friend... and then BANM! I fell down to the floor and broke my front tooth!... I managed to fix it with resin but it broke when I ate an apple .

So, I lived with my front broken tooth for a while during my teenage years (I have no pictures of it, since I didnt smile in pictures of course), and then, since I come from a very humble family, instead of having a "sweat 16s" party I asked my mom to rather spend the money fixing my teeth! Of course we went to the cheapest doctor, and this was the result:


The crown was horribly done, it was not my color and it was bigger and taller than my other teeth. Not counting that I already have a gummy smile and that any difference between my teeth length can easily be seen by anyone. Also, the gum above this tooth was tottaly black!, I have a triangular diastema in this front teeth and the front top ones are crooked since they all grew on top of the milk teeth.

I've allways been selfconcious about them, but never had the money or the guts to go to another dentist and fix it. I lost all trust in dentists!.

I finally got a job, and I remember a 40 year old pakistani guy telling me once "You're really beatifull... untill you open your mouth!" Hahaha this was when I decided, lets do it!!! lets fix my teeth!...

First thing I did was remove this tooth and see why my gum was black! Finally they figured the the tooth's root was not treated correctly and it was building up bacteria! I remember touching it and the smell was not good (UIACK! ). This is the picture after extracting the old tooth ( replacing it with a provisional one) and treating the root.


After that, I did a gum extraction, a minor one to take out all the tissue I had separating my front teeth. You can see that my teeth look bigger in this photo:


I have to redo this surgery again, because my front teeth are yet not in the same level, the old crown traumatized my gum tissue and now I have to make the tooth reach the the crown.

And finally I got my braces on monday 26 th november 2012 with and estimating 8 months treatment:

So, guys here is my update after, more or less one month with braces...

AFTER 1 month


I already went to my first appointment. And I had a rubber band placed in my two front teeth to start moving them together. Moving very slow... cant wait for them to be together for the first time!

Yay! I can't wait for mine to move in together either. My bottom one's moved in a bit but my top one's haven't changed at all that I can see. Hopefully the band will do the trick

I am 25 and have upper ceramics to close a midline diastema. I have a similar treatment time and should be being debraced next month.

HIGHLIGTHS OF THIS MONTH

Trouble eating in public?
Rice, leaves, walnuts, parsley, mango, beans, chewing gum are a real nightmare. This foods are better to be eaten in the loneliness of your home, otherwise you'll have enough food stuck in your teeth to feed a hungry child and everybody will look at your teeth and will not tell you, it's just to shameful.

Metal love
This part improved so much! I was complaining about attracting the wrong guys, you know, womanizers, who btw seem disappointed with my braces. and right now I'm getting other kind of guys talking to me! Point for the braces

Bullying after high school
I've been made fun of, by friends. I felt bad. You feel really insecure with braces on, especially when you present yourself for the first time. I had a friend who actually did a disgusted face when he saw me, in a table full of other friends Not nice.

You are doing something good for yourself. You should be proud of that!!! Don't let others get you down. It takes strength to take this step so I know you have it in you.
