Still have at least 18 months before my bite is fixed. Haven't posted any pics for a while...here's my one year pics:

My bite is ridiculously still crooked. Crossbite is in full effect and my lower four teeth are in front of my upper four teeth. So obnoxious but I've come a LONG way from where I once was. Oh and I moved so I have a different orthodontist now. That was totally expensive but it was unrealistic to drive 12 hours for an orthodontic appt.

Congratulations with your brace anniversary!
Your teeth have straightened out a lot and they definitely look much better now!
I don't see a crossbite (or do you mean your underbite in the front?) but you seem to have an underbite. Hopefully your ortho can fix this in the coming 18 months. Good luck with your treatment and keep us updated!

Thanks so much! What I have is actually classified as a crossbite. I have class I on my left side and started with class III on my right side. I agree that it looks like an underbite from the pics I put up but my molars and premolars on my lower right side are inside my upper arch. It will all get sorted eventually. I started out with a crossbite anteriorly, which you can see from the initial pics and I also had quite a terrible crossbite in the back. This journey is all to create a comfortable functional bite, not to straighten the teeth, per say. The straight teeth just come with the good bite

Hello Henricha,
I read in another post that in the past you were told you needed jaw surgery. I am so happy that you found an ortho who can treat you non surgically! I am in the same position. I was also recommended jaw surgery to fix my crossbite, but refused. Now we are trying to get the best possible result with braces only.
Does your ortho think he can completely fix your crossbite? I hope so!
I wish you very good luck on your journey, your teeth look beautiful already!

Anna5, yes absolutely he can fix it with orthodontics only. Will I be perfect? No, but as my initial orthodontist told me "no one is perfect and no one has a perfect midline"
My bite keeps getting better and better all the time. They changed me to my final wire on bottom this last time and I am wearing my final wire on top. I also changed the elastics for stronger ones and received a powerchain on the bottom. I'm uncomfortable but that is nothing new. When I get a chance I will post pics. It looks so much better already. The only teeth that are touching right now are my two upper front teeth with the two lower front and one of my lateral incisors with the corresponding bottom tooth. Eating is interesting.
How's it going for you?

Hello!
Good to hear that you are making good progress! I am looking forward to seeing a picture!
I am doing well, my ortho, who initially recommended surgery for me, now thinks I don't need it anymore. Here is a link to my topic:

Forgot to mention, my crossbite, or what looked like an underbite from the last pic, has been corrected. Everything is in alignment in the correct plane now, still a year to go to get everything where it should be but there's been a lot of progress from the beginning.
