One more sleep!

#1 Post by tiggypippin »

After contemplating braces since around October last year, the day is nearly here..... I can't wait I'm so excited.

I've wanted straight teeth most of my adult life (I'm 42) I have the ugliest teeth ever! Anyway had my impressions taken, photos (as always, I hate my photographs) and x-rays was advised to have one tooth removed. I had a really bad experience at the dentist when I was little so this was a terrifying prospect.

Anyway my niece who is a dental nurse assured me that this tooth would come out easily blah blah blah…. It didn’t, the root tips broke off …. Two dentists tried for what seemed like eternity to remove them but they would not budge. So had to go back again to see a more experienced dentist the following week, who would cut open the gum and retrieve them then stitch it up! Piece of cake says Chris my lovely dentist, would you mind if I come to observe? … of course not, bring popcorn, bring the family hee hee.

It was not painful but it was extremely unpleasant, glad I took my iPod with Les Mis blasting in my ears all talk of bone, blood and gore was drowned out. Took around mins to get the little blighters out and stitch me up.

Anyway tomorrow is the day to get the brackets on (hopefully), ceramic upper and lower (Clarity on top and Radiance on bottom – or maybe it was round the other way?).

I’m going to have Lamb Rogan Josh and Red Wine for dinner

How exciting for you! I look forward to following your progress.

Oh, and as for the red wine and curry... I have a whole list of goodies I'll be enjoying over the weekend before my fitting a week today. Apples, corn-on-the-cob and toffee being some of them!
Debraced on Friday 20th September 2013!

Loving my new smile :-D

Good luck with your treatment. I know the feeling about the curry, I had a curry about a week before my bonding date.

Am waiting for my debonding anytime to enjoy the curry but on the other hand tempted not to bother once they are removed, as I am now following a slimming plan!

Hi Angel269

Thank you. I actually popped a little Goan curry cracker into my mouth without thinking about it yesterday afternoon and quickly spat it back out... it was bright yellow colour so I assume contained lots of turmaric.... nearly had dreaded stained ligatures
