My ortho does not get it...do you guys see it? I think the pictures speak for themselves.

Looks like you are wearing class III elastics which may help accomplish what you are needing. Is your ortho saying that your bite is fine? Or just saying that you don't need surgery?

She is generally just neglecting the fact that my bite is lopsided on one side, however she does acknowledge that my bite is not perfect...hasn't mentioned anything about surgery although I feel that is the only option?

I can see a bit what may be going on. The elastic is to shift your midline over on the bottom. What I can't tell is if your molars are touching.From the pic it doesn't look like that is an inch though.

Hard to tell, but it looks like the open bite is about 6-8 mm. Perhaps the plan is to lower your molars just a bit so you bite deeper. Then I could see that much gap being closed spread out between your top and bottom teeth. The way the bottom brackets are so close to the gum line, i bet you a cookie the plan is to raise the bottom bite up more than the top going down. You also have to remember that the gap closure is spread out between the top teeth coming down, the bottom teeth coming up, and if they are going to perhaps lower your molars a bit to gain a MM or two. Can't see them so hard to see if they are too high.
