Braced on 06-Aug

Hi! I haven't seen any stories quite like mine here on the forum.
My journey started with a trip to my dentist and them saying "Do you get a lot of migraines?" I sure do! I actually felt pretty terrible all the time. If I didn't have a migraine I just felt crappy all the time. Apparently my jaw is all messed up. My top teeth completely cover my bottom teeth and my jaw cracks and pops. So I started this journey in an attempt to fix my migraines with the bonus of having straight teeth.
In March, I got a dental splint cemented to my lower jaw to stabilized my bite and it has worked wonders. Seriously, no more migraines! It's been wonderful, well except for looking like a reverse vampire. Ha. Most people were pretty nice about it. So that was phase 1.
I started phase 2 on 06-Aug, I got full metal braces! I am also using Acceledent. The pain isn't too bad, just a little achy. I am having terrible issues with eating though. I still have the back molar of the dental splint on. So my teeth don't touch at all. I can't even chew anything. I guess I will be having lots of smoothies and ice cream!
I am so happy that I found this forum! Reading through all your stories has really helped me feel so much better about getting braces at 43!
