I am new to this site, well, i've been here looking and reading stories as a guest. But anyway, I got my spacers last Wednesday, and my teeth were pretty sore during that time. But I have wanted braces but my mother thought that my teeth were just fine. But I new that they weren't. Blah...Blah...Ya-dah...Ya-dah...
I have just 7 days until i get my braces... but i'm still worried abotu how I'm doing to look in the braces... But I will try to post the pics but give me time... but I will update you.....

I want to thank you for responding to my message. I've read many post's and I see that you respond to many of them. I see that you make me and others feel comfortable to be here and comfortable about being in braces. I want to let you know that you do a great job here at archwired and you give great advice.
So many teeth that look fine to the average eye still have problems that it is better to fix, so you are right to insist! Also mothers tend to see their daughters through rose-coloured glasses - ie they don't see our faults - but an orthodontist might
Many friends and colleagues were surprised that I got braces, because my teeth seemed "fine" to them - but if I tilt my head a little bit back to show them the unevenness, they quickly realise why I had to get wired.
Having read many people's experiences on here, I do realise I am probably one of the luckier ones - I don't need any complicated or expensive surgery for example (so far anyway). But even if teeth "don't seem too bad" it can still be far better for your long-term dental health to get them perfected.
I see that u (weird_wired) understand where im comming from with my mom and all.
But she doesn't know that I am getting them. But She will as soon as I get them, Because I am an 18 y/o college student and I have a job that pays real good and I can really pay for everything.
I recently found out that my little sister on my fathers side is going to be getting braces also and we are pretty close. I'm excited that there will be someone sharing the experience with me. She gets her braces 2 days before mine. I showed her the site and she likes it hopefully she will join soon and I will post pics of her and my braces.
Just here to give everyone an update. I today all pain and irritation with the spacers are gone! But one of them has come out due to it being enough space. I currently have 6 days left before I get my braces. I am reallt anxious to get them on. I have a friend thats getting hers on this morning, and it looks pretty cute.
I can't wait until I get mine on but I will post another message for everyone to be updated. Wish me good luck!

It's great to see that you have you braces and your doing just fine. I hope that when I do get mine that the little pain is tolerable. Because even if there is pain i have my pain killers and my warm liquids ready!!

The adivice you five is always great to hear, something new all the time. I will use the warm water and salt! I know it works from when I had a tooth pulled it helped alot! I will also have my lip balm handy. My sister has just until monday, and I go in on Wednesday! I'm extremely excited to see the results and see how everyone will react. I'll keep everyone updates and let you know how it goes!
I would just like to add that i have 2 more days until i get braces! My sister begins her journey today! When I get home i'm going to congratulate her and to see how she feels! Give you an update on Wednesday when I get the braces!!!

I just got back from the ortho's office about 30 min ago. there is just some pressure. I decided to get pink and green ligs!! I think its cute! But here are some pics.
I want to thank you all for your support. I have had a little bit of pressure, but no pain at all but teeth are a little sore but I can manage. I like these colors and I go back on Nov. 29 for my first adjustment. I really like them so i believe I can cope. Sorry about the blurry pics. I would like to thank everyone or their support, next time im thinking about orange and blue or all pink. I'm not sure. I will update you guys every time i get a chance to!.
