Hi there,
2 days ago I had my RPE putted on.
I have a deep bite and my palat isn't that wide.
I'm 31 and wearing this stuff make me feel such a looser but I want to do it. I have spent all last years without making a full smile because I was ashamed of it.
The biggest concern now is my sexual life. I reed all your advices about it but I think I want be able to have an easy approach to it. I have a new girlfriend and so far she doesn't seem to be warried but who knows....
My mouth is always full of saliva and I'm afraid of what will happen when I will kiss her.

Please cheer for me!

My date was perfect, I had no problem at all, the only thing I did was to tease myself because I wasn't able to pronounce some words.
I think that laugh about your brace is a good technique.

Last wednesday 03/22/2006 I went to my ortho's for the first turn of the RPE. Now I can feel that my upper teeth don't match anymore the lowers. I guess it is supposed to be this way until my cure won't be completed.

I'm concerned of the fact that I have to turn the RPE screw only once a week. I've reed of people turning it once a day. Isn't my ortho wasting time?

Also I have to go at the office where his assistant activate the RPE while usually people do it at home by themself. Isn't it strange?

Let me know what you think!!!
Thanks

Yesterday wednesday 03/29/2006 I went to my ortho's for the second turn of the RPE.

Actually it turns the screw for 2 ticks every time.

In the beginning i felt a little disturbed between the two upper frontal teeth, where the room is supposed to come out but it's gone away in a while.

I can feel it my teeth are moving!

How long will you have the RPE in for Luca? have you been given an estimated time for your treatment?

Good luck with taking the plunge. I am 31 years old shortly and having a brace did make me feel a bit self consious at first but the past week I have actually found that it gives me more confidence to show people that yes I have funny teeth but I am also doing something about it!

:D

Hi sjsarre,
my doc said I will have the RPE in for something like 2 months, after it I will put on the normal braces. The whole treatment it is going to last for 2 years. I think I will also go for a whitening process.

I don't have any problem telling people about my teeth but I don't feel to show them. That's why so far I've been smiling keeping my lips closed.
Thanks a lot for dropping me a line. You have been so kind.
Good luck with your treatment to you too!

I hope it goes well for you. I have spent so many years smiling without showing my teeth or with my hand over my mouth..

I'm proud that I took the step to improve my teeth and their health.

I know I will look back at the pictures I have taken and hate what I saw but then I look forward to the results at the end.

Take care
:)

Thank you KK for your support, I actually don't know the total number of turns. My ortho's kind of cryptic. I trust in his capabilities but I think that a lot of doctors don't spend enough time explaining what they are doing. May be because they don't know your medical education and how much to go in the deep with you or simply because they don't want to scare you.
