Hooray!! I've FINALLY been braced!!! :D I've spent most of the weekend sleeping off this newfound heaviness (from lack of food?). The brackets were coloured coded for placement. They will fade into their regular silver. Sorry if there's any gross-out factors...I did clean and floss before the photo was taken. (I've also spent a good 1/2 hour trying to shrink the photo down to size. :x )

The brackets were applied inversley (sp?) Beforehand, they bonded my brackets to my tooth mold, then placed a hard gel overtop forming a "mouthguard" . When it all dried, they peeled off the gel; keeping the brackets inside -about 6 teeth to a section. Then when I came in, they clamped the mouthguards onto my actual teeth, (did the blue light thing)then peeled off the gel. Voila! It took just over an hour.

Hi kk, Thanks for your help about the photo . A friend had done the first but IIII got to do that second one one my own. It took forever to find the Picture Editor Program. I've been cropping it down but it keeps showing the original. :x I'll learning sooo much about computers and I'll keep working on it.

When I eat, my friends now feel lucky that they had their braces when they were younger. I would now like to be a spokesmodel for Advil and/or Nyquil as I seem to clench/grind my teeth while I sleep.

My family had steak, wild rice and broccoli. I took my portion of food to my new blender and made a color even Shrek wouldn't want to spoon. So now, I've bought the "I Can't Chew Cookbook". I have to colour code my food. Salmon, red pepper and potato make red. Broccoli, carrot and chicken make a very light green. (Two portions of Shrek stuff to go). I'm looking forward to the Strawberry pink Protein Shake for breakfast and BLUEberry ice cream for dessert.

Thanks again everybody for your thoughts.

Thanks everybody for your writing me!!!

kk,

Yeah, that photo is more painful than my teeth. A friend had done the first but IIII got to do that second one one my own. It took forever to find the Picture Editor Program. I've been cropping it down but it keeps showing the original. :x I'll learning sooo much about computers - I'll keep working on it.

Hey kk,

No new adventures to report; I just keep smiling more. Almost 6 months. Wow!!! I'm still wearing elastics to correct the side view of my mouth but those photos are harder to take.

Here's my photo for July.

For shock value I've added my first photo from Feb 2006

I usually take these pics after I've brushed out my lunch.
I gotta start wearing lipstick for these pics. :D
Take care,
Sandy

My Gap in Gone

#12 Post by SandyCheeks »

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the encouragement!!!

Part of me does miss the gap :GapToothed: I used to have a tea kettle whistle that would drive my mom crazy!!!!.

I didn't realize how much the gap had grown until I pulled out an entire tomato slice from my burger instead of the bite. (What a great first impression on a date! )

What's interesting is that I felt good about myself before braces. Now I'm just feeling more flirtatious - I keep running my tongue over the top of my teeth!!!

Wow!!! There is NO gap there, that's exciting!

I know what you mean about running your tongue over your teeth...when my gap between my front teeth first closed I did that same thing. And sometimes still do just to make SURE there's no gap there! lol!

It looks like things are going great, keep updating us about your progress.

On a side note, I just love the title of your thread! :D

I can't believe it's been 5 months since my last update!!! Work has been insane  At the company gift exchange, my boss gave me candycanes and gum :gavel:
My braces are now to come off in May instead of February (I screwup my ticker trying to change the date) The issue now is to make my teeth more vertical.
I took my elastics off for the new photo so you compare them to what I had in Feb 2006.
