I had 2 teeth extracted on the 3rd of Aug & I go back for my 1st follow up visit next Monday-My question is, besides elastics & powerchains, are there any other ways you know of to close extraction gaps-Can anyone post pix please??TIA! I'm just curious

Springs are also used for closing gaps. I had powerchains on the first day I was braced and I just got new powerchains that are way tighter ,this past week. For me the gap hasn't closed as fast as other people. But in 9 wks I would say it's closed about 3mm.
I don't know if my ortho will use springs on the next adjustment if he sees that my gaps arent closing more. I don't think he will use springs until later on if needed. I think the springs are stronger at closing gaps faster. I just think that since it's a metal coil instead of thick elastics/powerchains.
Anyway, the gaps will close no matter how stubborn your teeth are.
How old are you?
I know for some people it doesnt matter how old they are young or older, their gaps seemed to close pretty fast. My orth says that from his experience ,older patients teeth move a little bit slower and sometimes a lot slower!
