I just got my bottom braces put on 2 days ago (had my uppers put on 6 weeks ago). I'm not in any pain like I was when I got the uppers.. maybe because my mouth is more used to the pressure, I'm not quite sure. But I do have this really weird sensation.. it's almost like my teeth feel like they're being tickled. It's like it starts in the tooth and goes down into my gums. It's constant but it gets more intense when my lips move. It's kind of annoying, really.. because it feels so weird! I know your teeth can't actually be tickled but that's what it feels like. I prefer it to the pain but sometimes I can barely stand it
On a lighter note.. I finally don't care that I have braces. I was really self-conscious about them when I first got them but it doesn't matter to me now I guess it just takes a little getting used to... I don't even notice the uppers anymore since I've gotten used to how they feel. At first, I didn't think I'd ever feel normal again I'm just happy that I'm doing something to make me feel better about my teeth

Mine get really tingly and sort of throbby -- it's right on the border of pain but not quite. Someone here explained it once, and I think it has something to do with the nerves in your gums just getting used to things, plus you've got increased blood flow to the area. Am I remembering that right?
At any rate, you're not alone! We seem to all feel weird different things.

thanks for all the support! It sounds like what you've all experienced.. it's not as bad today but it's still really annoying. It drove me nuts yesterday though! It did help a little to bite on something a little harder because the pressure replaced that weird sensation. I can totally see how the soda would help. Thanks for the advice
