I had 2 implants between my rear two molars at the top, attached to the canines to bring them back after the two first premolars were removed. Will try to get pictures as well.

Just an FYI - had the screws removed last week and they don't use anaesthetic, they literally just unscrew it. It really doesn't even hurt as much as fitting new wires and elastics though, so DON'T SWEAT IT!

Also, my ortho used springs between the screws and canines because elastics lose their elasticity and need to be changed, whereas springs remain tense throughout the duration.
Thanks. Good to know that removing the screw shouldn't be that big of a deal. Yeah, after the first adjustment, the orthodontist noticed the molar didn't move very much and she made some comment about them losing their elasticity. I said, I drive by here every day on my way to work, I'll come every week if you want. So, she had me come every 2 weeks, I think that helped a lot.

I have 4 mini anchors. The surgery was a piece of cake. No pain whatsoever. I had a little brusing on my lower jaw, but it didn't last long. Infact I was braced the same day. My mini anchors are on the outside of the gums and are towards the cheek behind the last molars. They are the anchors for my braces. They will be coming out at the end of treatment. I was scared to death even thinking about having this done, but found out that it was all pain free and sounded a whole lot worse than it actually was. I too will have implants at the end of treatment. After being through this first procedure, I have no fear or worries for the next.

Update - I had the screw removed months ago... no big deal. It's now been 12 months since the start of my treatment, and that molar is in the right place now. :-)

Hey just bumping the thread.

My orthodontist recommend me to get Micro screws to fix my overbite. However, I am a student and concerned whether or not if it will cost extra to get micro screws?

I appreciate all help. Thanks in advance!
