Bumps

#16 Post by boaster »

I have four bumps on my four middle top teeth and they're barely noticeable. The only thing about them is they take some getting used to. Initially, they feel really weird, but that goes away.

Diehard, I'm so sorry to hear about that, sounds pretty scare actually, I wonder how that can happen, sounds so extreme! So you have to get metal braces afterwards or does it end up normal good looking in the end? It's hard to imagine.
Have you seen any pictures posted here that look like that? It would be nice to see what might happen to us invisalign users!

Boaster; thanks a lot! That does help to know that! I higly value all the replys I'm getting! It's great!

invisalign is high risk I knew that before I started the treatment i figured if I did`t do it now then I never would. I would spend every penny i have to get to be able to smile and not think about how it looks to other people
if I have to metal braces at the end then so be it by that time people will know im having treatment and I personaly think ill have more confidence by then anyway :)

diehard, I think that is so brave! I don't know what I'll end up with those bad news of having to have metal..... I can bearly say the word! I'm too selfconsious which I do dislike in myself but it's hard to change that, I care too much what other people think. I hope it all works out perfectly for you in the end! Did you ask your ortho about the elastics? My appointment is thursday in 10 days I'll ask about their exact use at that time. Do you still want me to ask if they would do any good in your case?

Diehard, I tryed asking her at my appointment yesterday, but when I started talking about the molars tipping she seemed to take it very personal like I was doubting her expertice or something like that. She replyed that that had never happened to her before. i didn't dare asking any further! I rember on my first visit she said she didn't let everyone get invisalign and that I was lucky that I qualified for it. So maybe she plays it more safe than your ortho, and only go for the "easier" cases? And about my need of elasics she said we should wait and see if it would even be a real issue. So I just recieved the first 6 sets of aligners yesterday. Ohhh my God how my tounge hurts! I feel almost nothing on the teeth at all, just a really sore tounge and a mouth full of plastic that can bearly close. After waking up at 1 AM with a swallen tounge I decided not to wear it to work today. I really hope I'll get used to it over the weekend, and that my tounge becomes normal again with some of the great tips I've read on this message board!

iv had no problems with rubbing on tongue because I clip part of the tray which overhanged and rubbed on the tongue but today for the 1st time my tongue and throat is killing me but im putting this down to a huge amount of talking which I never normally do

its a shame about not being able to get your ortho to talk though

Yes it sucks! Sorry! I tried though but she started taking it personal so my female intuition told me to not rub anymore in the subject. I still think its rude of your ortho to not take the time to answer your questions!

I guess it's not extremely bad but I definetely don't like them one bit!!! I'm so thankful to invisalign for making my teeth so much prettier! BUT WHAT AN ANNOYING pain this is!!! Not that it hurts that much at all, it's just so annoying with all the in and out! Plus kissing is so much better without the aligners in! Cannot wait intil I'm done! Luckily I just passed half way so that's good!
The best thing is there's still no news wether I'll need the elastics or not. I sure hope not! We'll see! Either way I'm really happy I decided to do this and it's totally been worth all the trouble!
