stains around bottom brackets

#1 Post by lemonlyme »

I have ceramics on top and metal on bottom, but i noticed around the bottom brackets the (i am assuming) glue is stained--gross! On a plus note (this is totally freaking me out right now) a tooth i had on the bottom that was completely sideways is UPRIGHT OMG, i almost had a freakin heartattack, i tried to explain this to my friends and they all look at me and turn their heads like "ok???" I know you guys understand my excitement! Any tips for the staining though? BTW meryaten i love your new ligs--im trying to decide if im bold enough to do the orange and black this time....first adjustment on tuesday :D

The ortho may be able to remove some of the staining if you ask him/her. Mine did a few months back, and he mentioned it was partly the cement that was staining.

Also once the braces come off, pretty much all the staining comes off with them, after a good sand and polish. It did for me anyway (see the two latest pics on page 5 of the thread in my signature).

Hey lemonlyme,
I had exactly the same thing and thought it was the glue staining, but as soon as the ortho changed my clear ligs my teeth went back to the normal colour. Point of the story being, it wasnt the glue or cement it was atcually my clear ligs that had stained and left a yellow disposition around the bracket. I dont know if your case is different, but i hope it is sorted soon!

I've got the same staining which is excess glue.. I really do notice it because I have the ceramics on.

The Ortho did say he could try and scrape some off, but its not really that bad so I told him I would live with it..

Only because I don't like the idea of scraping!
