Dee76 story

#1 Post by dee76 »

I've got braces since august.
Had one adjustment and will go for my second adjustment on the 22nd of november.

I've got brackets on upper and lower teeth and a biteplate to stop me from biting my lower brackets. I had problems chewing my food in the first few weeks but its getting much easier now.

My orthodontist is great, she had braces herself and her teeth look amazing.

I hope I'll be able to post some piccies in the near future but I haven't figured out yet how to do it.

I'll keep you up to date!!!!

Wickid that you have started on your journey. What part of the uk are you in? How much are your braces...im also in the uk and mine are costing me 2500..i have the invu brace (clear brackets and clear wire). Im in london and i havn't seen many other people over the age of 18 braced, so as a male at the age of 20 with braces ill always be remembered.

Hope everything is cool

Today I tried to make some piccies of my braces and looking at them I won't be posting them as my elastic powerchains are soooo yellow
thats probably down to my coffee addiction.
2nd adjustment is soon then I will give it another go.

I have nightmares lately that all my teeth are falling out.

My progress is good.
Gap between my top 2 teeth is now closed :D
And the gap beween my bottem 2 teeth is almost closed. That gap is due to an extraction because of overcrowding.
My ortho mentioned at my last appointment that she will start working on my bite soon.

I went for my adjustment today and my ortho commented on the great progress I've made.
Because I have been wearing my biteplate 24/7 for the last few months I don't have to wear it anymore. :jump:

They changed the archwires top and bottem. On the top a very large archwire. They took my yellow powerchains of and they replaced them with metal ones so no more yellow staines.

I've also been given elastics (class II) which I have to wear 12 hrs a day.
Its a bit of a fiddle to get them on.

After all the lig, wire and powerchain changes I had a chat with my ortho and asked about the timescale of my treatment ( I hadn't asked this question before)
And she said that I had approx 6 months left :D This is great news because I'm getting married next july.

I will get permanent retainers at the end of my treatment.

Next appointment will be on 10/01/07
