Today was my 6 week check-up and first adjustment. They started by taking the powerchain off my front teeth because they were so tender. I now have pink and blue ligs, 2 wire ties on the top back teeth and ELASTICS....yes I now have to wear elastics 24/7. It is very uncomfortable so far. My front teeth got instant relief when they took that powerchain off, I can't wait until I can actually bite into something with my front teeth.

Good to hear about your first adjustment mmgreco. Pink and blue ligs sound very pretty. I asked for lavender on my lowers (thinking I would ease myself into the colors thing) but they turned out a deep, glow-in-the dark purple...all the same, I love 'em!

Keep us posted how it goes with regards to the elastics - I'm very curious about them as I'll be getting them at some stage and would like to know what to expect. Do they tug on your teeth when you talk? Might be a silly question but that how I imagine it feels.

Geri - That is not a silly question at all! They kind of tug a little when you talk but the worse part is trying to open your mouth at all. It is just really wierd. They said it will take a few days to get used to them, my teeth are all really tender right now and I have even been taking Ibuprofen.

Mmgreco! Wow your having some awesome progress there! Congratulations! I hope you feel better and adjust to the elastics soon! I really like your color choices! They look very cool! Thats really soon to get elastics! I wish I had that much progress so soon! I'm only now getting bottom braces after a year and a half!

Hey mmgreco - I didn't know you could get colored elastics - that's great! You have fab colors going on there. Thanks for saying how it feels to have elastics....it sounds really strange. I hope things settle down soon - I'm sure your teeth will be much happier in a few days and you'll see some changes (how I love to see change)!

My teeth are moving good still... I'm not sure how much longer I have in these braces, everytime I ask the ortho he just tells me my teeth are looking good... Here are some pics. sorry they aren't very good I need a new camera!!!!
