jaw shave

I had my upper and lower surgery about 5 weeks ago and in about 4 months I'll be getting a "jaw shave" because there is more tissue on one side. Has anyone ever heard of this or had this done?

I am also getting this trimming/shaving around the nasal crest/upper maxilla I have'nt heard of anyone else having it either.

I had it done on my lower jaw-as part of upper and lower jaw surgery. Has thinned my face out-I use to look like I had jowls. The bone removed was used as part of my graft for my upper jaw. I am only 5 weeks post op and other then the obvious profile changes,my nose and the "shave" are what I noticed first. My OS referred to them as wings.
