Mine is 18 months -
My teeth are a bit 'tender', but nothing like I remembered when I was 14 or so (this is my second time in braces) - I neglected to wear my retainer the first time - won't do that again.

hey Twe10 , looks like we'll be in this journey together from start to finish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Estimating 18 months for me too, I'm figuring realistically is could be more, so if it is only 18, I'll be plesantly surprised!! LOL
I got out of the chair about 1:45 yesterday
doing salt water rinses, fluoride rinses, using waterpik , brushing with regular and electric too brushes, trying to floss -- seems hard to get between bracket and gums tho with the brushes....I have small teeth and the bracket takes up a bunch of tooth surface...I'm sure in time I'll have a routine down!
Well I have to admit - so far, so good!!!! No 'real pain', just some discomfort still when I eat, brush & floss....and it does hurt when my upper and lower teeth touch....but no constant pain at all..... a little headache last night and today, but I get those, so not sure it's related to the braces or not.....just waiting now on change
