I'm Done

#1 Post by Whirliebird »

Whey-Hey they're off.

I was debraced yesterday, it wasn't altogether an unpleasent experience but on my top two molars where i had bands fitted i had some 'dentine' exposed.... OMG that was PAINFUL :o

Today it feels ok, it only hurts to brush BUT i woke up this morning in considerable pain with my top teeth along the front 6.

Is this normal? did anyone else have this problem.

I also have to wait a week until i have my essex retainers fitted. Does this pain mean my teeth will move in that time?

I should be happy but i'm stressing....

I waited a week for my lower essex and in that time, yes, my teeth moved. My ortho wasn't surprised OR concerned. The retainers would put them back where they belonged.

The retainer snapped into place and it felt like I'd just had an adjustment...but the discomfort was gone within a few minutes and my teeth were straight again within 24 hours.

Don't be stressed!!!!! Unretained teeth will move a little tiny bit in a week. Your retainers will fix any movement.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Whirliebird - Try not to stress too much...be happy that your getting
essix retainers they are so comfortable and practially invisible. I've been in essix retainers for a couple of weeks now and love them!
