Funny! Well, not funny. Yesterday (my first day) I had sensitivity on one specific tooth on my lower and now it's switched to another tooth on the lower. Talk about musical pain.

I do know what you're talking about Pimp, when I remove my lower tray, I get some intense pain that lasted for a second or two -same when I return it. Gawd, I feel like I'm removing my own teeth!! Also, looking at your sig line, Pimp, it appears as though you have a better understanding of your time frame for both your uppers and lowers than I do. That's next on my list of questions when I go in 2 weeks.

well, if things go according to plan (a new aligner every 2 weeks), i will be finished in a year. but, there is a possibility of a refinement at the end to fine-tune things. so, i added a few months to my estimated time. of course, im hoping that a dont need refinements anywhere along my treatment timeline.

wow 11 on the lowers... nice. Have you noticed any changes in your teeth yet? I know it's still early days, good luck with everything.

no visual changes yet. but, i do notice a small difference when im flossing. i had spacers in my upper teeth and i can feel the most rear spaces closing when i floss, as the more forward teeth are shifting back.

i start to see some visual changes in my lower teeth around tray 5-6. on the uppers, i won't any visual improvement until 12-13.

so, i popped in trays 3 and 3 this wednesday. these ones felt pretty tight, but not painful. in fact, they didn't quite fit down on my teeth perfectly. i'd push them down in certain spots, and they would pop back up a small fraction after a bit. however, after a day or two, they seated down perfectly. so, as far as i can tell, things are progressing smoothly. i can even see some progress on my lowers! :D i see my ortho next week, so after that ill have a good indication of how my treatment is going.

I am an orthodontist. The attachments dont necessarily have to be placed on the front teeth, they can usually just be placed on the side teeth in the beginning. Later on in treatment, front attachments sometimes have to be placed in order to make some specific type movements of the teeth. You could ask your practioner to remove the front ones until they are really needed. Many times front attachments are never needed and are just placed by the technicians in Costa Rica without the dentist giving any imput into their need.

well, removing them now would not make any sense, as all the aligners have been manufactured. removing them now would just waste a refinement. wearing the aligners with the bumps in the tray but not on the teeth would look even worse.

but, what you are saying does make sense because in the beginning stages it's just my back teeth that are moving in the upper arch.

The bumps can always to added at any time when they are actually needed to perform the anticipated tooth movement at that time of treatment. This is all set up by the orthodontist before the alignners are created.

upper and lower tray 4 popped in today. very tight on the uppers, but after a few hours, they are already fitting much better. so far, i haven't had much pain at all. the pain comes when i take them out and eat. but, its nothing that is unbearable. i had my first ortho checkup today and he said everything is fitting great and the teeth are moving nicely. he also did a little sanding on the upper incisors. my lowers are looking great. they are almost straight! can't believe i'm almost already half way done my lowers....i should have started treatment a LONG TIME AGO!!!!

its been awhile since i wrote on this thread, so i figured i probobly should since my intention was to post my invisalign experiences. anyway, im on tray 8 now. things are going really well. my ortho says that things are going exactly as planned and when my lowers are done (only 3 more to go!) i'll be getting a bonded retainer right away. my uppers will take another 7 months to complete. wow, that seems like a long time! well worth it, though. it will be nice to only have to deal with one tray in my mouth. so, i'm looking forward to that.

damn, it's a lot harder to be a good invisalign wearer in the summer. there are more parties, bbqs, weddings, etc. i'm not as good with the wear as i used to be, but i'm still averaging at least 20 hours a day. and, things are still moving along well. hope this continues. i'm kind of anxious to see how my uppers will move because, after a few more trays, there will some drastic changes in appearance.

Its so nice to hear a good story for Invisalign! I started May 10th and have LOVED it so far! Before deciding on starting with Invisalign, it was hard to find a "love story", but since I was told I was a good case, I went ahead with it anyways.

I hope my journey goes as smoothly as yours has so far :)

well, time is flying and i'm on my last tray for the lowers! unfortunetly, a small space is left inbetween 2 teeth. so, i'm getting a refinement done. should only be a few trays to finish up. the uppers are coming along nicely too. should see some real movement now. i'm experiencing almost no pain now, so i guess i'm lucky that way. while i'm waiting for my new lower trays, i'll only have to wear my tray 11 for a few hours a day as a retainer. probobly just to sleep or something, i guess. so, that will be nice. almost half way done!

LOWER BONDED RETAINER IN...BUTTONS AND LAST ALIGNER OUT!

i feel free...well, almost. but it feels good. only 8 weeks left. my ortho thinks i won't need a refinement for the uppers. so, i'm pretty damn happy about that!

merry xmas to me. :D
