Total of $4500AUD -> $1000 up front, the rest as 5 x $700 quarterly payments.
And paying my final one today, I might add!![DancingBanana ](./images/smilies/Dancing_Purple_Banana.gif)
My insurance doesn't cover ortho so I'm paying for it all myself.
In Aus we can claim any medical/dental costs over a certain amount off our tax (don't quote me on the figure; I think it's any costs over $1000 or maybe $1500) so that's something.

I'm in the Seattle area and my treatment time is estimated to be around 24-30 months at the price of $5,595.
With $1,500 insurance, 5% discount for paying in full, and a small deduction for having one of the x-rays done recently at the dentist,
my total comes down to $4,100.
Is that a good price for around Seattle?? Just curious because I've read so many lower prices since I came on this board![Heart ](./images/smilies/love2.gif)

My total cost for Damon 3's, records, and retension is $7300. I had another estimate that was $6700 but the office was too far away to make it practical. After my insurance $1500 and my downpayment I will owe $150 per month for 27 months of treatment. I use a health savings account so that I can pay in pre-tax dollars which is helpful.
southern California
mine $4200 no insurance.
I'm not good with money management so I just paid in full while I had the cash.

Thanks Meryaten for the information. I was starting to feel like maybe I should've shopped around more since there were so many people quoted much lower prices. The severity of each case is a great factor in determining the cost as well as the doctor's experience and so on, so I guess you can't really see who's really got a good deal unless you look at all the factors. Is Washington generally more expensive in dentistry than other states? I think I read a list on the main Archwire site but am not sure. But, your info relieved me a little nonetheless. ![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

Mine cost $5000 + $150 records fee.
Adult braces...$4400 and then an extra $600 because of the ceramic uppers (bad choice for me...I should have went w/ metal). Insurance paid $2000 and I paid the rest.
Worth every cent so far (hoping for no TMJ relapse).![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
ETA: by the way, for those not braced yet, if you're concerned about the price of braces, you should check with your local Orthodontic College/Dental School/you get the idea, (if you have one) because usually they offer really good prices since you're helping them out as well (the students need experience). Just a thought. Funny all the info you come across *after* you're braced.
