The lowers wire is definitely less up-and-downy. Looking good there.

kirjax- Actually I didn't have much room in my mouth. My 2nd molars elevate onto a diagonal and my cheeks were constantly raw from me biting them.

The extractions were necessary because my teeth were protruding causing lip strain which is why I always smiled instead of ever closing my mouth. Plus, I have a wayward molar that would have decreased the little space I have in my mouth once the teeth were aligned.

Everyone. thank you for leaving me messages because I really started to think that my teeth were NEVER going to move about in the right directions. I guess it just proves that we're just our own worst critics.

Laurie, Jamie, Linda, BA, Mer - Hey thanks guys. I just have to bear with the program for another 2 years and almost 3 months. I can't wait until my teeth are straight, gaps are closed, and my bite is A-OK!

I'm looking forward to my next adjustment, June 11. I think I'm getting a new wire. From the looks of it last time, I didn't see much spring left and the assistant was going to change the wire but Ortho said to keep it this time. SO, I'm guessing that next time is a wire change. *crossing fingers* Also, I think the glow in the dark lig is holding up well despite my constant festival of spiced and colorful foods. I may go for the glow in the dark uppers to replace the smoke and silver. Lowers, I'm still thinking of playing around with bright and festive colors (despite the head shakes and looks of dismay from my bf). He was the kind who was boring, uninterested in his tx and always got silver or grey. I think I convinced him to get a new set of retainers once I told him that even after tx, his teeth can shift back and give him the snaggletoothed smile he had before. Hahaha that scared him into even asking me how much a new set of retainers would cost him. He is the type who would never inquire anything and would just blow it off unless he really cared about or wanted something. Maybe I can scare him into marriage, just joshing, he's the one who brought it up first.

Update on the wax- Orthosil and Wax are both protesting me using them. Both types are refusing to stick and wires are having a heyday back there. I am not sure if it is something about the moons alignment with the sun but GOSH DARNIT! Nothing will stick and I must've eaten a whole pack of wax just over this past weekend! Luckily I have one more pack of Orthosil and regular wax. OMG, I hope this demonstration lets up soon.

Mer - I don't think just one pack could do it. Maybe if it were a dozen or so, bought in bulk from Lynn. Hahaha. My bf had left and right laterals hiding behind his centrals with canines high in his gums. I'm hoping he doesn't let his teeth shift back to how they were. He would look like :soremouth: and I would look like :yikes: !!!!!!

I can so see myself as having fun with wax. I'm sure I'll be cussing it by the end of the day today.

:soremouth: OH man!!! 3rd molar #17 is starting to erupt. My gums are super sensitive and brushing makes me want to cry. Even yawning throws me into a cold sweat. I do not remember #32 hurting even remotely like this. Somebody call me a waaaAmbulance! On top of that, ortho wants me to keep the tooth. YAAAY! for me but I'm not YAAAY-ing right now.

Thank you Mer and Karen! I feel so much better today. I had toast for breakfast and managed to get through it without much pain. I'm also drinking extra protein shakes because I'm skimping on my meat intake. I'm not ready to try chewing something I need to work too hard at while my gums are recovering.

Some of you may think that protein shakes are nasty but mine are really good! It has the same consistency of chocolate milk and comes up pretty darn close. I get the stuff from my personal trainer and boy, I'm willing to pay the moolah for it. I tried a different shake once bc I ran out and my trainer didn't have any in stock. :yuck: NO BUENO!! I ended up throwing it out after the first sip bc it tasted like whipped eggs and vanilla. I thought all protein shakes tasted as great as mine, I learned that all products are not created equal, no matter how much you pay for t hem.

Thanks to everyone's well wishes, no more pain from #17!!! I brushed and flossed as usual. I even managed to have 3 crunchy tacos for dinner, the dinner of champions! I checked my once sensitive tooth for sensitivity and it's not there. I've been brushing with Crest Sensitive and I guess I can thank that for it's help. Also, I've noticed that my gums are looking less bruised than when I first got these painful powerchans. They're turning from purple back to my normal pink/red color. AWESOME! Things are going great!!!!!! I would post pics today, but I'm too lazy. I pomise some more to come soon, I'm not too sure what changes there will be but it never hurts to look.

Oh boy, I have gaps galore! Sorry, bear with me on all the staining.

All pictures from June 1st.
Look at that tubing, the staining is ridiculous on the side I chew on. Take a guess which side it is. Also, that happens to be the same side I was testing the glow in the dark lig. NO thank you, you can see the spot of yellowy-dingy color lig.

In the picture below, you can see on the right, on the very last molar with the bridge, that metal showing. It's from all the night time bruxism. I guess I'm glad I have to have that replaced after tx anyways. And you can see that wayward molar is starting to make it's way out and looks like I need to take a trip to the dentist to have him check out the molar next to it. I can't tell if it's staining, part of my filling, or a cavity.
