How long til' i can wear my retainer only at night?

I know this has probably been asked before, but i remember something about my ortho saying i should wear the retainers day and night for three months, than just put it on every night.

I may be wrong but my ortho recently moved to a different office a month or so after i was debraced and have no idea how to get in contact with him, thanks!

Try and look for the name of the dentist either by yellow pages or however you look up a business... I'm sure you can find out that way!

I do believe you already answered your question! 3 months night and day then night afterwords... Try calling the ortho at the old number usually many practices I've seen transfer to a new site but keep the same phone number!

Google him! If you can't find him through Google, then you can't find him! Seriously, if the practice is still open, then chances are that someone on the staff would know the general rules for wearing retainers. I wore my retainer 24 hours only for two weeks. And, I got a brochure when I got my retainer with more information.

Oh, and if your ortho had a website, you might get some info that way, also.

Best guess would be if the retainer is very tight after going without it (however long) then you need to be wearing it more because your teeth are moving.
