Powerchains and is the Treatment going faster?

#1 Post by Imarchwired »

Hi I had power chains put on after around three months of treatment.
Please share with me, normally after how much time did you had your powerchains on.

Also I have a concern that intially I was told 24-25 months of treatment by an orthodontist. Then I changed the place and the new ortho told 18 months. It's been 3 months now and he says that It should take less than a year now. Somehow I sense that he will finish it even sooner. I am worried if he is going quite fast.
I do understand that everyone's teeth moves at their own speed. But isn't this also possible that doc may be wrapping up the treatment faster which may cause more of teeth loss and bone loss. I am already 27 and my bone is quite dense as shown by xrays. Please share how many of you got treated faster than what you were told at the begining.

I think I got my first powerchain around the 3 month mark, but it only covered a few teeth. Powerchains have come and gone and come again during my treatment.

My initial treatment time was predicted for 27-30 months but I finished at 18 months. I have had them off for 3 months and I am very happy with the results. Things just progressed faster than initialy predicted...and that was a good thing!

Thanx KK and Becky so If my predicted 22-25 months come down to 12 months. I should not worry?

i had power chains put on after 2 months. we're closing up my front gap in time for my wedding next summer.

he told me from the start that as soon as i graduated to a full-sized wire, i'd be in a powerchain.

i happened to stop in for a "comfort appointment" at around two months and they surprised me with the powerchain. anything that gets it closed faster works for me!! i've been in powerchains for a month now and the gap is about half its original size.

i keep hoping i'll be one of those people whose treatment time is a lot less than initially projected. otherwise i'm getting married in braces.

we'll see!!
