Free Stuff from NC Ortho...
Wow, I almost feel short changed after reading all the cool stuff everyone else received (tshirt, waterpik, sonicare, etc). I only got the following in a zippered black bag with the Ortho's logo on it:
2 contaniers of wax, a regular travel toothbrush, floss threaders (6), a package of that stiff end style floss, a dental mirror thingy, a magnet listing what you can't eat and what to do in an emergency, 2 proxy brushes, a card with pictures of what happens if you don't brush properly and a tube of chapstick with the Othro's logo.
For comparison, total cost for everything/anything during my 2 years of treatment in all metal Damon brackets in conjuction with oral surgery (Ortho charges extra for patients having surgery, don't really understand why - maybe more chair time?) was $4,725.
As an FYI, when I went back on my last appointment for spacers they gave me a clear bite wing thingy because I complained about the pain when trying to chew. Honestly I love this! It hurt at first but really helped me work my way up to chewing normal again BTW, I have since purchased a Sonicare & Waterpik on my own for a total cost of $150.

I rec'd: travel toothbrush, regular toothbrush, tube of toothpaste, floss, one box of wax, 2 interdental brushes, several samples of an oral gel, bag of plaque removing picks, oral hygeine care brochures and a t-shirt.
My ortho office has a points program where you earn points for wearing t-shirt to your appointment, having good oral hygeine, on time arrivals for appointments, etc. You exchange points for rewards like gift certificates for movies, Best Buy and Old Navy gift cards, and ipod shuffles.

I'll be looking foward to this gift bag, b/c for initial exam and following long one, they gave out bunch of paperworks and magnetics etc..
I just have metal bands so far and all I got is 4 envelops full of wax.
All that cleaning may be used starting from brackets? I'll find out this Thursday wheather my Orthodontist is a giver as all their paper works have been through.
