Hi Terri, :-1

Welcome!

I am fairly new to braces too - just had my 1st adjustment on Tuesday, so I'm a bit sore from that, but I'm certainly willing to deal with a little discomfort, because I've already had great results in 6 short weeks!

I'm glad to hear your mouth is feeling better after your braces & extractions. KK gives great advice - she's almost a pro, so she will be a great resource for you! :jump:

Here's to a successful braces journey :-88

Best wishes & good luck!

Is it common to get extractions after the braces? I had everything done before the braces. It seems like the most logical way of doing it...

Choppers, there are a few people here who have had extractions well into treatment. In my case, my ortho adopted a wait and see approach before deciding the fate of one of my lower wisdom teeth. Six months in, he decided it had to go.

Hi, newbie here. I'm 34 & will get braces this week for protruding upper & lower teeth & I opted for upper & lower ceramics. My ortho didn't mention anything about extractions & said he would just do some teeth shaving or IPR to make some room for teeth movement..maybe extractions will or won't be necessary in the future. :)
