Hello Everyone. So it's been almost 9 months for me and I'm very happy with my results so far. I just had an adjustment today and he told me I'm almost done. I forgot to tell him my jaw has been bothering me again lately. Oh well, if it doesn't improve I'll tell him at my next appointment in 8 wks. Below are my photo's from before and today.

I think my midline is improving slowly.

Well I had another adjustment today. It's been about 10 and half months now. I don't see much change since last time.

Anyway he put on a, now I think he called it something like a "rotater block". Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Has anyone else had one of these. I'll give it a search yet as well. My chains and block are already stained and it hasn't even been a full day yet! Yikes.

As you can see they also put some wires on for me to hook elastics onto. So I'm back to elastics.

Well it's been just about a year now, next week, and things are looking good. I still have a ways to go because of that one stubborn tooth on top, oh well. Anyway I'll post pictures from today. I can't tell any change really since July. The ortho put a huge bend, curve or loop in my wire. I'm interested to see if it'll work.

Thanks everyone. In early summer my Ortho told me I'd likely be done in fall, so I'm a bit bumbed that I still have at least 3 more months to go. I won't complain though because orginally it was to be 18 months, so I'll be happy with anything less then that!

Anyway today when I was brushing my teeth a hunk of my clear bracket broke off! It's Thanks Giving this weekend here in Canada so they can't see me until Tuesday to repair it. So far the wire around it is holding so I hope it stays.

Well I had another adjustment today. Can't say I see any difference with my teeth since last time. I have another appointment in 5 weeks. He says I'm almost done. Just a little tweeking here and there. I was surprised that he thought my top tooth was ready. He asked what I thought, thankfully, and I told him that I feel that that one tooth is still turned out, or sticking out. I don't think it's budged but he seems to. He is trying the loop again. I feel kinda like giving up on that tooth because he's been working on it since June and I don't see any significant change since then. Once that tooth is in I get my braces off. Should I just quite being so picky about that tooth, or should I stick it out untill it's perfect no matter how long it takes? Check out the pic's and let me know what you guys think.

Thanks everyone.

Bracedagain- I'm glad you noticed it too. My friends and family look at me like I'm weird when I try to point it out. I was starting to think I was making a mountain out of a mole hill.

I had to look for a while before I could tell a difference. Might as well get it all done the first time right?

So I had another adjustment yesterday. All went smooth. They had to reattach a bracket that came off of my molar last week, but that was no biggie. I sure was sick of that loose bracket twirling around back there all week. He said that at my next appointment he was going to assess my progress and let me know how much longer I need to wear them. In summer he told me they should be off in fall and at every appointment he tells me I'm almost done. I think his definition of "almost" and mine are very different, ha ha ha. Anyway, at this point I don't know how much longer I have. I took new pictures, though there's not much to see. Things haven't really changed alot since summer. I don't know what is going on with my top arch. My ortho appears to think it's all dandy. I think it's lopsided.

Mmmmuuaa your teeth look really gorgeous. I do know what you mean though if you can see something your not happy with and others look at you like they think you're mad. At the start of my brace journey my teeth were such a mess that I was happy with anything. However now one year down the line I can see that problems can be solved. I keep looking at my top left lateral and don't like the way it sits with my other teeth, I just prefer the look of my top right one! My family think I'm mad but to me it is obvious (ok not a "big" deal in the scheme of things but I would like them to match). I'm a way off being done with braces so I'm sure (I hope) it will be sorted.

As I said your teeth look really gorgeous but better a few more months to get things exactly as you would like rather than getting the brace off and thinking "what if".

Thanks Kiwi and joney.

I agree joney. In the beginning I would have totally amazed and excited for my teeth to be like they are now. As you said a year later rolls buy, you've invested alot of time and money, and all of a sudden it has to be PERFECT. I'm trying, key word, trying, to not let my expectations to be too high and trust my Ortho that he won't take them off till he feels he's done everything to correct my bit and crowding. I'm very grateful to be able to receive orthodontic care and will be happy even if it's not 'perfect'. I'm sure that no one will notice but me anyway......
