Removable Braces

#1 Post by BellBoy »

On the Internet I read a lot about removable braces being quicker but less accurate at moving teeth larger distances and see that they are quite common. I was just wondering if removable braces are used in adults as well as children? They are just a single wire going accros the front teeth as apose to the fixed braces that have the little blocks attatched to each tooth. Just wondering if anyone hear has this kind of brace?

It may not be aesthetically apealing, but cool

That is cool! I didn't know about that. Is that even used in the US?
I'd rather have that treatment process.

Yes, I used to have those when I was younger [7/8 years old]. There was a problem... I never wore them when I was supposed to... and that's why I still have braces. ^^

I've also had removable braces when I was in higschool (exactly as you described it, no brackets, just the wire), about 10 years ago, but didn't see results, I used to take them off when eating, even when speaking at school, so I didn't used them properly.. I am not sure how efficient they are for adults.. :)
