What is the name of the gray tube-like thing between my bottom teeth in the photo?

I believe it will later be replaced with a spring and it's to make room for the rotated tooth to be brought in (?)

Hi funshine,
I have a couple of those too, it's just a piece of rubber tubing to protect the wire that skips a tooth from cutting into the inside of your mouth. Like you, I will also have to have springs at some point to make room for all of my teeth to be bracketed
