Orginal estimate 18 months before, actually had the braces on for about 20 months before, so pretty close to the estimate.

So I found out today that progress molds won't be done until a month before surgery. My ortho says that all I need now is to correct some tipping in my molars and to give my roots some time to get into their final positions. He changed both wires but he let me see what my teeth look like without the wires, its pretty exciting when I think about how crowded they were a year ago.

He gave me the go ahead to contact the oral surgeon for a consultation, records, x-rays, etc. My ortho also said the OS may want something else in my bite to be corrected prior to surgery and this would give everyone plenty of time. My appointment with the OS is March 28th.

I am doing the dance.

KAYCEE~Very cool!!!! Isn't that exciting to have it narrowed down??? Did your ortho give you an idea of how long it would take to correct the tipping and giving the roots time in their final positions? I would be dancing too!

What surgery are you having, kaycee?

SERIOUSLY~Is there anywhere here at AW where I can read a little more about your story? You are having so much done, that I don't even know what some of the proceedures are. Do you have sleep apnea?

Andantae -

I am having a LeForte I and BSSO to correct an overbite and a thick upper jaw. I have heard that the OS I am using usually will do a genio for cosmetic purposes while he is in there. Not sure if he thinks my chin needs correcting.

My orthodontist believes I will have a July surgery date and I couldn't be happier. I mean if I have to sit around and do nothing for a few weeks, what better time than the middle of the summer?

We should probably start a thread for summer surgery dates.
