Hello All

#1 Post by MBP »

At nearly 41 years old, I finally took the plunge and got braces. Although my teeth are not horribly out of alignment (my bite was off by just a tiny bit) I've always struggled with the imperfections of a protruding eye-tooth and a slightly twisted front tooth. Either way...here I am. My first day in the upper brackets (the lowers do not go on until the 10th). I was surprised that my orthodontist insisted on the removal of the 5th cuspis (right side). I didn't realize that I had a significant crowding issue. I'm not looking forward to the extraction (scheduled for the 13th), but trust that the ortho knows what he's talking about. (smiles) Anyway...I was happy to stumble onto this website. I've learned a great deal. I'd be happy to post pics of my progress, but am not sure where or how to do it.

I look forward to visiting this site often. Thanks for listening.

Welcome, MBP!!

Congrats on deciding to get braced!! :-)o I, too, only have my tops on with lowers going on in April. Funny how some ortho's do it that way  . Too bad about having to have your tooth extracted but a lot of ppl here(me included) have had them so you're with friends :D .

Keep us posted...you can start a journal in the "Our braces stories". It's a great way to keep track of your progress :computer: .
Keep smilin'! :)

Thanks for the warm welcome Jenny101101 and OfficerJen! The journal idea is great and I look forward to starting one soon. I'm getting my bottom brackets on Monday, the 10th. I'm a little anxious about that. I imagine that will take some getting used to. It hasn't been so bad with just the top brackets. Anyway...thanks again for welcoming me to the Archwired family. Now, I don't feel so alone in all of this.
