Numb Teeth?

#1 Post by OfficerJen »

I just got my braces 48 hours ago, they don't hurt as bad now, but some of my teeth still feel numb, is this normal? And when will I be able to feel my teeth again?

Yes, it's very normal. My back teeth feel pretty good now but my front teeth still feel a little numb. Give it two weeks and you won't even notice :D . Hope this helps!!
Keep smilin'! :)

although it is annoying, it is completely normal! this happens to me almost every time that i get a different shape wire... it only lasts a week or so, don't worry : )

Yeah, it's quite disconcerting the first time your teeth go numb. I usually get it for a few hours after a minor adjustment, but I REALLY get numb when I get a new wire, a major tightening of wire ties, and when I get repositioned (or new, or stronger) elastics.

Right now the entire top right is pretty numb and sore which is a pain to eat :D

*sigh* thank god it's normal!
I've noticed my teeth are starting to feel better and one or two of them have shifted just a little, my bite in the back is different and it's a little annoying but it's a relief! :) I think after a month the only thing that is going to be visually wrong with my teeth is my openbite, I have a feeling my teeth are going to move fast, i'm trying to stay positive!
