again, another thread, but really in pain
As my last thread reported, it does look much like the wire has went to the one side... tonight, far too much, the blood is starting to run from my gums now,as the wire is so far back, its splitting my gums, and , with it being 30 mins past midnight, dont know what to do!

Wax is your best friend
Use it in bulk if need be! My ortho's office supplies my wax needs, and I don't hesitate to ask for plenty of it. For wires sticking out in back, I prefer the old-style, sticky wax, not the silicone stuff. It makes an incredible difference.

Do you have any gauze? When mine did something similar my first month in a retraction wire, I ran to the store and bought some gauze, stuck some in my cheek and left it there when I wasn't eating/sleeping and called my ortho first thing in the morning! It didn't take much, really.
I know that the wax sometimes just gets cut through by the gum action and can seem pointless. The gauze at least stayed in place despite talking. I looked a bit silly if someone was paying close attention, but whatever... comfort first!

my teeth are still numb, but it def feels better
good luck!

WAX IT!!! Use as much as you have to, just get that end covered and not poking.
There are also ways to bend the wire, like using an eraser tip or a spoon.
CALL THE OFFICE ASAP in the morning too... if you can't wait, get a pair of clippers (like someone else suggested) and sterilize them up and clip that sucker down!!!
