Hi Bracedagain ~

Great progress pics! Too bad that you had a slight relapse due to the surgery but you'll be back on track in no time, I'm sure!

SO glad I will not need a tongue habit device. :D Yeah, I'm sure you're in no hurry to get it!

When I get a spare afternoon, I'll have to read through your journey but just don't have time right now. I'm interested to learn what you've gone through!

Ken, we love pics, you should know that!

Good to see those toofers are coming back under control. Now you just need to teach that tongue of yours a lesson or two!

Hi Ken,
long time no see! Yes, I am also still hanging in. Have gone beyond the projected date, only a couple of months so far, but we are tweaking getting the right side to "tuck under," and the left cuspid to line up more perfectly. I am beginning to worry about MY tongue being a conspirator, but probably not because the left side is okay-- I'm just out of balance. (yeah, sometimes my husband says that too.) I have just about given up on taking pictures because they just don't turn out clear enough. I use the macro setting, but something isn't right.
Anyhow, great to see that you are still as fun as ever and that the gums are settling down. ONWARD to perfection or whatever!
It's all in how you see yourself!

Hi Ken,

I browsed through your story tonight. You've had quite a journey. Loads to read. Honestly, I couldnt read it all... I'd be up all night. LOL.

You've come a long way. :D Hang in there!

I did some reading on "tongue thrusting" a week or so ago after my ortho said something to me about it. They show pics of the device you're talking about too. It doesnt look like a lot of fun... but your comparrison of it to a chicken on a rotisserie made me laugh. LOL

I'm looking forward to seeing your updates. Good luck at the adjustment on the 19th too.

So... you live in Ohio too? Sucks doesnt it?! LOL

Hi Kara,

Nice to see ya' stop by for a chat! Gosh! Kudos to you for even trying to get thru my story. Yep! It's a long one or sure. But I'm stubborn enough to see it thru. Tho the habit appliance is going to be testing!! But I'll do it and teach my tongue a thing or two!!

I just got back from my adj. and not a lot to report. My left central, the lateral incisor and the next tooth are still lace wire tied together, for a good anchor point. I have a powerchain from my right molar to my left first molar. We are pulling the left side along the wire to get my wayoff midlone back into place. And pulling my right last two molars forward to close that gap.

My lowers were showing signs of gappage again (stupid tongue thrust) so I'm back in full powerchains on my lowers again.

I really didn't get a chance to talk with my ortho much this time, as he had an emergency patient in one of the other rooms. I wanted to ask about that habit appliance again. But since he told me before that he wanted that side gap closed first, I didn't bother him with that.

Perhaps i'll get a couple of pix up in a day or two. That stop at Applebee's happy hour was a good one. So I don't think I'll try to take any pix to-nite!

And Kara, YES living here is a bit of a bummer sometimes. Did you know that we average only 59 Sunny days a year!! Now that does suck!!
Well hello there! :D That sucks that you didnt get to talk to your ortho much. Hopefully he can fill you in a little more on that appliance at your next visit. Have you done any reading on tongue thrusting? I found some pretty interesting stuff on a couple sites. I'll have to see if I can find the site again for you. I hope the appliance corrects the habbit for you. I'm sure it will be a pain but it will help in the long run.

I'm anxious for my next visit to the ortho. I'm hoping that they take these dang springs off and just set me up with powerchains to get those gaps closed completely. Who knows what he'll do. It's a surprise every time I go in. He says my teeth move too quick but I thought that was the whole idea of 'speed braces'

I hope things go well with the new powerchains and such. Cant wait to see new pics. Your smile is looking wonderful... :) stay positive.

And as for the Ohio weather... I'm not surprised on the number of our sunny days. We're lucky to get that! LOL. I heard we would have SNOW on Saturday. I'm SO SICK of the snow.... I wish spring would get here already!!! :D It's been a crazy couple weeks. We've had flooding really bad in my area... I was lucky to not have to deal with too much of the water but I still hate rain. I was born to be a beach bum. 8)

Have a great weekend!!! :-88

Gotta go pretend to work. :D TGIF!!! :computer:

[quote="bracedagain"]Hi missfashionista,

No, I'm still a good boy!

Not just a whole lot to report yet. Some closing of my front gaps is about it. My side gap is being stubborn tho. That is the one that my ortho wants closed before I get my tongue habit crib. :?

My next adj. is next week, so I'll take a couple pix then that will show some progress I've had. 8)

Thanks for checking in on me, tho! :D

OK, sounds good...can't wait for you to put up some new pics! :D
