9 more days...!!!
I remember the day that I was like, "29 days!", and now it's 9 days, and I'm sure time will fly, and I'll be sitting in the ortho's chair with infinite anticipation/excitement! When I do get them removed, my parents will have already bought me Crest Strips, floss, an apple, Haribo gummies, and we'll go out to celebrate my birthday (April 2) and by DB-Day (April 28), so that'll be the best! Furthermore, everyone's like, "Why are you so excited?!" And I'm like, "Yeah, try having braces on for four years, and those four years being the ones (7th-11th grade) the four most shaping and immpressionable years of your life, where you've grown to know yourself only with braces, and have had many awkward moments where you're eating, and stuff gets stuck like nobody's business, or you're talking and your lip gets stuck on a bracket and it's like, "Awk-ward!". Yeah...so anyways, I cannot wait, and I took my molds half a week ago, and my retainer will be sheer, clear pink with a cream-colored bunny sticker, but I'll have a bonded lower retainer, so I guess one less retainer to worry about, and it cannot be any worse than braces. (I hope!). Any suggestions about what I should do to "savor the last of my braces"? They'd be greatly appreciated! Funny ones, too!
Hello AlgebraLand,
Just a few days away fro you - very exciting!
I was just de-braced on Wednesday, although I didn't have 4 years of braces in my formative years. Only 8 1/2 months in my early 30's.
I'm veryy happy to be brace free, although since I clench my teeth at night, I noticed that my teeth are a bit sensitive without that extra support, but I can certainly live with that!
I am getting my essix retainers (clear ones like the Invisialign trays) on Tuesday morning and already have a lower bonded retainer from canine to canine. The only thing I can't do with the bonded retainer is to bnite directly into an apple - I have to eat them in slices, which I prefer anyway.
Good luck being brace free & have fun enjoying your summer and your senior year brace free!
