Surgery went well from what my OS and his team said. My swelling isnt as bad as i expected, my face just looks huge. Far as pain, im kinda in pain now as i type and its really hard for me to breathe so i'm going to make this kinda brief so i can lay down for a while. i havent been able to drink at all, its really hard for me to swallow. i'll post later when i feel alot better...

I am so glad you made it through - and well enough to post already! Kudos to you! Keep up the ice and make an effort to get some water ro Gatorade in you - it is really important.

Hope you are able to drink soon! And I have been thinking about you. I know you will be feeling better soon.

My OS told me I would feel like I couldn't swallow, but I could. He was right. I put a hand over my mouth and held my lips together. That helped me. And I tucked my chin down. That made it less painful.

Keep us posted on how you are doing!

Sorry to hear about the swelling :( . How much are you icing? I would just give it just another day or two to see if things start going the other way before I started to worry about infection. But, you could re-read Jayc and Loulou's posts find out when and how their infections were discovered.

Take care, Lina, lots of sleep and try to move around just a little bit.

Don't worry swelling is normal to peak for the first 48 hours thats what the docs told me, personally face was really swollen but after the 3rd day the swelling will go down. I did my surgery on the 29th and my face is still pretty swollen but i'm recovering from most of my numbness and theres not much pain even though i didn't take any pain meds after surgery.

DAY 4!

I feeling alot better. Im able to actually stay on the computer longer than before without feeling light headed. Swelling still looks the same and its still kinda hard for me to eat.... i dont want to loose weight or I'm going disappear  I have a to go to start therapy Tues. and my OS will be there. I forgot to mention they didnt do the Lefort I cause they didnt want to have to work on my upper jaw for a problem they feel could be corrected with just BSSO and genio. My chin looks amazing for it still to be swollen, it actually looks normal even with the swellin so i can imagine what it'll look like when all the swelling goes down. Now, i guess i have to wait...EAT, take pain meds, and all that other good stuff :D

i get tired of layin down all the time. I was telling my mother this morning (in sign language lol) that i see why babies cry so much to be held, Laying down so much gives me a head ache. Anyway, this splint is becoming apart of my mouth now...im getting so use to it, i have so many wires and rubber bands in my mouth...My mouth is not going to move one bit. Its still kinda hard for me to breathe and swallow, it sometimes scares me cause i think i might choke or something. I'm prescribed to take Oxycodone and boy does that stuff make you feel like your on cloud nine lol. My sister had to come check on me and i couldnt answer the door cause i was knocked out, so she climbed through the window. She told me she thought i was passed out somewhere. Awww lol im the baby of the family...only 19! :D swellin still there but im becoming more and more patient everyday!

 Oxytocin!!! WHERE did I come up with that??? NO, I guess I haven't had any of that either today. I am going to stop posting as it apparently is one of my alzheimer-like lack of sleep days. :( Sorry Lina.
