Yes, I read your posts on hedyblue's thread! The sleep study is a stange and fastinating process, isn't it? Were you uncomfortable that you woke up so much or is that normal for you? I will be very curious to hear your results---you might be surprised. I left there thinking it was unfortunate that I slept better than usual that night so my results were surprising to me---especially the low oxygen levels spikes.
Looking at you jaw line, I swear its my jaw, although my hair does look different.

 I must warn you that right after that records appointment I went and got my hair cut and colored so you don't really know if our hair is all that different anymore, Mr iborg,......and they say everyone has a twin somewhere......

LOL on the ROM. I'm convinced I don't have a big mouth now either, but I certainly talk like it.

Andantae's Surgery 10 days and counting...

#19 Post by Andantae »

Arvensis~Thank you for the birthday wishes! :D DH gets high marks as he got me a Kindle for my birthday with my recovery in mind (Have you heard of it?) I am SO out of it when it comes to high-tech  I am an avid reader and he is a techy guy so it's the kind of gift he loves to give and for once suits his non-techy wife perfectly!

cmeryer~ Thank you so much, cmeyer, that is a very kind thing to say and means alot for me to hear :), I am sooooo glad to have the support and camoradarie of kind and caring people who are going through the same process. Thank goodness for this site and the people here!

Meryaten~ Thanks, Meryaten. I feel same way you do about wanting to not think about it until I have to. Happily, we are going to Charleston SC on Wednesday through Sunday for my DH's joint 50th birthday party with his fraternity brothers & wives. It means alot to him, so I couldn't say no though at first I really lamented the timing of it. As it turns out, I have just finished getting most everything done ahead of time so I can go and have a good time and forget about everything, so it's really worked out for the best!

I just asked my DH what he worries about and suprisingly he said, "Infection". I asked, 'Why infection?'- I had never mentioned it-and he reminded me that a good friend of ours almost lost his wife last Summer after having back surgery because of a staph infection which developed and went undiagnosed. She had to have 2 more surgeries due to complications from it. My surgery is in the same hospital  . Yet, staph bacteria are everywhere and that is a rare occurance according to another friend who works at that hospital.

He has now added that he also worries about how he is going to entertain all the animals while I'm down :) . I have barn help and horse care all lined up so all he has to do is entertain, but there's still a lot of slack to pick up! :)

Andi -

Happy Belated Birthday!

You are so ready for this surgery, I know you will come through with flying colors. I'll be thinking of you on the 4th.

And since you are the queen of lists, are you going to share with us your "weird food shopping" list ??

Just checking in to see how you are doing with only a couple days left. Have you decided what your eating last? I ate so much so quickly I didn't even eat my desert! My show time was 945 and I was told not to eat after midnight. I was starving by the time they took me back. To my shock a little of the hunger stayed around after the surgery. I didn't get into a room until like 6pm and all they could get for me was some chocolate milk finally around 7 or so. Well anywho, hope all goes well! Let us know how things went from the other side!

HI Guys!

First a catch up:

kaycee~ You found the weak spot in my preparations! I don't really have much of a food list other than what I have found out about here and I jotted down some items from, "The Healing Jaw" book which I bought along with my ZnS. Basically, I just went to a health food store and started throwing weird food stuff in the cart--mostly to get me through the first week. Once I get on a soft chew diet than I can just blend and add liquid to most things. I got soups, juices, ensure, liquid vitamen

Iborg A Kindle is a wireless reading device put out by Amazon last November. It's amazing and I love mine already. Wikipedia has a good description of it.

Ssspidermom~ I LOVED SC!!!!! We also spent a few days on Kiawa--awesome! What a fabulous part of the country. BTW, I am in the EXACT same situation as your daughter by not being able to ride at the best time of year, and living in MN we have such a short season to begin with  !

Loulou ~ Thank you and glad you found me! I'll be needing your expert advice!

I'll post again tomorrow to share some last minute thoughts, I gotta get a little more done tonight!

I miss--posted this earlier

SO! The Clock's ticking now .....!

I met with the assisting surgeon this morning to get my splint fitted and briefly review the plan for tomorrow. I was able to see my molds mounted on the articulator so I got to have a sneak peak at the anticipated result.....OOoooo; AAHhhhh

Oh looks like I might get to have soft chew right away :)

Thank you all, dear cyber buddies, for all your kind words of support and I will get back to you, 'from the other side'!!!

Andi

Arvinsis & Meryaten~ Nope, no eggnog around here though it is prime cow country, but if drinking an ale & ice-cream float will get me an Honorary Membership into the exclusive and coveted December Scalpes Club, I'm there! I LOVE ales, BTW: it's the only beer I drink, so this is not a hardship....
