Yeah, I know what you mean! I'm from GA! A little bitty hick town. So we where the outcasts and the "bad" crowd.

Just because I like to wear black and eyeliner and chains and the such doesn't make me a bad person. I'm sure you know how that goes though. I didn't have many friends in school b/c I have no problem speaking my mind and I wasn't into conforming to the "rules" of fashion and the "in" crowd. Chances are if there was something that everyone was wearing or had- I'd do/wear the oposit. I didn't want to be a clone. I wanted to be different. And I was. Lol.

But anywho, I am 24. I turned 24 in January.

i turned 23 in feb! lol are you an aquarius too??!! im the same way... as far as fashion but i deff can say that lately i feel like i been having a early mid-life crisis!! idk what i wanna wear any more or what i can do with my clothes that isnt too teenage looking ya know... but black pink and purple are my fave colors and i love goth style and music... my fave band is H.I.M.!

what do u like as far as music?

I'm actually a moody capricorn.

My hubby is a gemini! So we kinda but heads sometimes. LOL! As far as music goes, I like a bit of everything. One of my all time favs is NIN, though. Especially the Pretty Hate Machine albumn. And who doesn't love Closer!? That song kicks butt!

I also love old school Korn. Anything that has a good beat that I can dance to, techno, country, classical, christian... It really just depends on my moods. I am very emotional/moody so it changes constantly. I am on Zoloft for depression and some people think I should be a robot and not have feeling but that is sooo not how I am lol. I don't care much for rap, bluegrass, jaz, and stuff like that, though. I'm really an odd person. Okay chick, I have to go run to wallyworld but I'll talk to you in a bit.

Christian music, Angel? LOL, finally someone else. Do you know old school bands like dcTalk or Petra?

Necra - I was glancing at some of your posts...heh, 23 starting college, eh? That's about when I started. Well, 24, cause that's when I could get pell grants. Tell your pops my story...I'm now 27, been through 2 majors, changing to yet another and am just now getting the braces I've needed since kidhood.

It just takes some people more time to find out who they are, that's all. Better than not trying to figure it out at all.

Your graft story scared the heck out of me...cause I got a tooth (almost looks like the same one) that sorta has worn away gum. I admire your strength to deal with that. Way to go!

Angel - are you like my twin or something!! lol a clone i was un aware of!? cause we are creeply alike!! lol but i think thats sooo awesome! my moods are alllll over the place and i fel that i need somthing like zoloft actually... i go from happy to sad and its really odd... hmmmm idk who to talk to about that!

AngelRuse - yea the graft was NOT fun but after a couple of days it really was bearable... i kinda miss having a reason to pop half a pain killer... i would get so loopy (i never took a RX pain pill in my life mind you) and i would say off the wall crap to my b/f before i would fall asleep and he would make fun of me in the morning!!!!! lol that turd. even now tho it feels like there is something restraining my lip a little bit... its odd... but it should go away... and thanks for your words of encouragement!

Lol! No kidding! I've noticed that also. I gotta admit, I find it very cool.

About the depression stuff, If you want to talk to someone about getting on something you can go to your regular dr. if you have one. That is who I get mine through. My meds makes a HUGE difference. Yes I still get depressed but it really does help! I'm going to pm you.

Ugh. I don't know why they want to torture us but I sure am sick of it. How 'bout you? I think it's time they learn who's boss, eh?!

Not much longer until you get under way with your spacers!!! It seems like it's coming up REALLY fast. well, to me anyway since I'm no the one waiting lol.

necra: Only 3 days to spacers!

Now that your time is getting closer, have your feelings changed about getting braces? I go from excitement to oh my god what am I doing and back again. Is it normal to have cold feet? I think I was less nervous for my wedding...how lame is that.

I hope things go well with your Dad today. Btw, it's great having you to cheer me on through this process.

oh yeah you have no idea how nervous i am! .. well maybe you do lol but im right there with you and we have to stop and tell ourselves that we are doing this for ourselves.. that we are strong enough to do this and we are not alone .. we are doing this together and will help eachother through thick and thin with this whole process... I'm just as scared as the next person who is diving into the braced unknown but like i said we arent diving alone... i'll be here to talk to and support anyone who needs it... and so will everyone else here!

Im a very indesicive person and im actually surprised that i havent backed out yet to but tell you the truth... people here like Angel84 Niki and you too LaLaDee are the reasons im still here! everyone here is such an inspiration and we are all here for the same thing... Beautiful straight smiles that will light up the room... and its not just for health reasons... its our self esteem... our happyness ... and our lives in general that are truely affected by the final out come

Trust me, it's totally normal to go back and forth like that. I think I switched about every hour between being excited to scared to death to not sure if I want to go through with it. But Ill tell you what guys, if you are this close and don't go through with it... think years down the road when you could have had that beautiful smile but didn't go through with it. Can you imagine how upset you'd be!? I would be kicking myself in the butt constantly. You guys can do it! And you will look even more beautiful than you already are! I'll be your cheer leader.

I've been down the road of regret. Not for braces, but for other things in my life that are just as important. It's not a fun thing to berate oneself constantly for not doing something....so, as Angel84 said you can do it! Do it now and get it overwith. Time will fly and when its done you'll be a new person, not only with your teeth, but yourself because you pushed yourself to do something you weren't sure about and it came out awesome.

On that note, Happy 4th. Keep us updated on your story.
