Squeaky noise in my face!

#1 Post by JennX »

Hey all,

I am about 3 1/2 months post-op, and for several weeks now I have noticed an occasional "squeaky" noise when I eat from the area above my upper lip and just below and to the side of my nose. This noise has gotten worse in the last day or so, to the point where my boyfriend can hear it when I'm eating! I emailed my surgeon and he said to get my orthodontist to do a panorex, so I set up that appointment for tomorrow and am bringing the results to my surgeon on Thursday. Has anyone experienced this? Do I have a screw loose??

Thanks,

Jenn

I had this for a few weeks immediately after surgery. It didn't happen when I ate but if I lightly pressed on the area you're describing it made a squeeky/hardware'y sound. It went away. I would get it checked out nonetheless.

So I had the panorex taken, and demonstrated my squeakiness for my orthodontist. The next day I go to my surgeon and for the life of me I can't make the squeak. He looks at the xrays, feels around my face and gumlines a bunch (ouch... still very tender) and says everything looks fine and doesn't know what the noise is. So I guess as nothing's broken or loose I won't worry about it... until it starts driving me nuts again!
