Denise wrote: My lower centrals rest just behind my uppers. I can barely get a fingernail between them. In the beginning it was like a whole thumb. My upper and lower laterals and premolars are all resting on each other. I'm so used to sliding my jaw forward and still do it subconciously. While on vacation I was talking to my hubby and he said, "Why are you holding your jaw like that? It looks like you have an underbite." That drew my attention to the habit and I've been trying hard to break it. At night, I tend to hold my upper and lower centrals together. I don't know it it is because I can or if it is like in the beginning of braces when I did it because the moving feeling was an annoyance. This has been causing me to wake up in the middle of the night with horrible headaches and sore lower centrals. Although, my lowers are still moving which could account for some of the soreness. So, veteran AW members, will this weirdness pass once I get used to my new bite? Or do I still have lots of changes to go through? My ortho appt isn't for another 10 days. I need one of those teeth displays to study how they should fit together. :D
Hi, Denise,
I think I'm having exactly the same problem as yours: my lower centrals are pushing against my upper centrals, and what's more, they hit before my back teeth touch, so I have to try really hard to close my jaw, and both the upper central and the lower central are feeling pressure from each other. I'm wondering what's the answer you get from your ortho. is this touching normal? I don't have my appointment for another 10 days, and my ortho is out for vacation, so I can't schedule an earlier one. But it's really a torture for me.

Another question I have is that you said your uppers had been back a lot, do you notice any bite change during the process? Did the bite change hurt? or it's just changing constantly? and what was the step caused the bite change: just the arch wire or it was with the elastics?

Thanks a lot!!!

Thanks, Denise! By the way, how long have you been waring elastics and how long did it take to get your overjet back?

Thanks Denise! I'm pretty excited about my progress. It's nice to be able to look at them and SEE a difference.

I'm jealous of being room mom. I've been debating the past few weeks what I want to do. It's really starting to hit me that the kids are getting big and I might be missing opportunities w/them. I've worked full time for almost 6 years now and I want to be more available to them. Especially now that we've got so much going on. It's a full time job just driving everyone to where they need to go! haha

Talk to you soon!!

Missy

That's the truth.. I stopped doing that too. haha It's funny how they stop looking when someone says that.
I'm ready to get on the move.. we've got 3 different practices tonight and starting next week we add in a 4th. I'm thinking of checking into cloning but I think it's still illegal. lol

The R word.....
Tell me did it make you feel.....excited, scared or giddy?

I've heard that word in some conversations but never one involving me. Tell me how did you handle it?

Some day I may need to know whether to smile, laugh or cry.

I need advice, please.....

Seriously looking at where you started to your latest pictures, you must be very pleased.

Mike
I wore braces (this time) for 1294 days or 3 years, 6 months and 17 days.
But who's counting?
