He walked in at 6pm as usual and immediately looked at my lips. I just kept them in a closed smile. Until I talked to him and he ran to me telling me " I knew it! WOW gorgeous!!!
I think he has asked me to smile like 100 times since yesterday lol. This morning he said " Let me see that smile again ?" During dinner he kept saying " Just look at that smile!" so he's as excited as I am I think lol.
He was there with me through the whole treatment of ups and downs.Taking me to the oral surgeon was the worst for him to have to see me in such pain for almost 2 weeks because of 9 extractiosn in one day and an infected extraction area.
The ortho said to wear the retainers at night and I could have them off during the day if I'm out of the house. I wore them like 12 hrs lastnight and after breakfast I got paranoid thinking my teeth will shift in a matter of hours lol. So I popped them back on after lunch. The ortho just said not to wear them when I go out because that's how they end up lost.

So I will be a lifelong retainer user ...Too many people have told me that they stopped wearing their retainers and their teeth shifted like 35% back to their original positions :(

I have Essix retainers. I thought I would have a "movie moment" when my daughter handed me the mirror as soon as the braces were off. But I just smiled and stared. It wasn't until 6 hours later , I went back to pick up my retainers and popped them on.

When I was driving back home I suddenly started feeling like I was tearing up ...yup tears were all over the place lol. My daughter started crying because she knew how happy I was. I just felt that an invisible burden was suddenly gone forever. I never realized how my teeth impacted my life in a negative way.I went through some really rough times in 27 months but through all of it I knew that it was worth it.
Everytime I would read and see the after pictures of people here I would get soooo excited and hoped that I would be so happy with the results.
All of you will feel thrilled and that feeling is so personal that it's difficult to explain until you get there.
I'll stick around for a while and see updates on everyone's progress :)

Oh Gennel, you look amazing!

I'm getting banded for the first time on Monday, and seeing your results and reading your feelings, is making me anticipate having that moment too, when I'm proud to smile and laugh with my teeth showing.

Thanks for inspiring us!
