unless you are getting banded tightly for a long period of time or wired

i wouldn't bother with zip and squeeze there just a waste of money as you prgress so quickly after surgery i doubt you will get much or any use out of them

i was bk on soft food straight out of surgery and by 2 weeks out had chips and pizza

a month out and i was on holiday and 6 weeks out completely 100 percent back to normal

though if you feel like you need them or want them i would only get a couple of bags as they can be washed and reused

I bought the jaw bra but used some bigger gel packs that I found at the drugstore. Since the jaw bra is pretty stretchy, the bigger gel packs fit without any problem. I bought two sets of gel packs so I could rotate them - one set in the freezer, one set on my face. I thought the jaw bra fit nicely.

I agree with Meryaten, the zip-n-squeeze allow you to get a pureed meal in fast. I would try to use the baby spoon at each meal for a bit and then put the rest in a zip-n-squeeze.

Its weird thinking back on this period of my life. I loved the jaw bra. Very useful. I did not buy zip and squeeze. I was banded shut for 5 weeks and was ok with a straw. I didn't even use the syringe that the hospital gave me. I also did not need baby spoons. But everyone's situation and healing is different. You truly never know what you will need until after surgery. Like I have tons of ensure bottles that I haven't touched. I probably had 3 total.
