I wish I had gotten them at 28! It took 3 expensive consults over 4 years before I finally decided to get them at age 31. I remember thinking that if I gotten them 4 years prior, I would have had them off already at 31. That made me finally go for the 4th and final consult. No regrets since I know if I hadn't gotten them then that I would STILL be thinking about getting them now.

yes it will be hard to speak the way you want to. You just have to deal with it as best you can and for the first week try to stay away from the really tough words and try not to use "s" too much. Eating will be ok. just the first few days you wont be eating anything crunchy, mainly soft foods. I love meat and chicken so i cut mine really fine to eat and it worked.

I did it! I got them put on!! I just got the top linguals put on to get used to them first. I'm getting the bottom ceramics on in 3 weeks. I'm glad because I would have struggled with both top and bottom being sore. I'm coping great, I'm finding it easy to speak only the 's' are a tiny bit lispy but all good. Am just feeling a little self conscious that others can sense my speech is a little different. I can't wait to start seeing changes to my teeth![/img]

Grats man! You seem positive, so it can't be that bad?

What brand do you have, incognito (iBraces) or another brand?

Yay I'm glad the forum is working again! I had my bottom ceramics put on 1 week ago. The first 2 days I was really getting annoyed with them in but now I'm used to it. Think my lip has stretched to fit comfortably over the brackets. I still have a slight lisp from my linguals but not really noticeable to others but myself :)

Its funny how many people I know have had braces or want to get them. Some think its cool that I got them :D

Xtc I'm still not sure what type I have I'll find out at my 1st adjustment
