Range of Motion

#1 Post by krikri306 »

Hello everyone! I had upper and lower jaw surgery on December 18th and I had the splint and bands removed yesterday. It was a very long five weeks, but I'm finally able to eat soft solid foods again! It's been wonderful. I'm very happy with the results thus far. I'm just wondering how long it usually takes to get full range of motion back? I need to cut the food into small pieces in order to have it fit in between my teeth. Thanks a lot!

I think other poeple have said it took several months to regain FULL range of motion, but some degree of improvement was seen within a few weeks for most people. You'll probably be a while before you can eat regular sized bites though, as it's only been a month since your surgery.
